AIRBRUSHES

AIRBRUSH INFO AND REVIEWS - FREE AIRBRUSHING RESOURCES

When it comes to airbrush art you need a good duel action airbrush. You don't want a simple, single-action airbrush as it will not give you a lot of control.

single duel

To get started you probably want to not invest a lot of money at first. There are some good cheap airbrushes. I have tested lots of the lower-priced airbrushes. Some cheap airbrushes are good and others are not.

For instance, I hate the airbrushes from Harbor Freight - they ARE junk. You're better off using a straw and blowing paint on caveman-style.

I have tested tons of inexpensive airbrushes and the low-priced airbrushes I like are the Royalmax Model 130 and the Model 180 airbrushes. These things are great. The paint very well and they are extremely durable. These come out of the same factory as the expensive fancy-name-brand airbrushes that all of the rip-off websites and so-called "airbrush artists" push down your throat for super high commissions.

So, I don't sell these but the links I provide go to the site that does sell them. Once I had tested these and found their quality to be as good as anything else out there, I bought a few of them for myself -- for backups, etc. I intend to be my own customer service. At these prices I don't expect much -- if any -- service, and I am fine with that. Look, I haven't gotten any customer service from the big company when I've paid the big prices and got lemons.

REAL TRUE FIRE AIRBRUSHES For Realistic Flames

and other airbrush art, I recommend the Royalmax 130A and Royalmax AB 180 Airbrushes. They are easily as good as the famous expensive airbrushes but these are a tenth the cost! of the identical name-brand airbrushes that come out of the exact same factory! as the "you-know-what" brand every pushes -- but for a tenth of the cost!!!

FYI, the high-priced ($150-$300) "American" and "Japanese" airbrushes are really made in China as well and they are identical to these. In fact these are the exact same airbrushes out of the exact same Chinese factory as the fanny high-priced "Japanese" airbrushes but without the fanny high-priced name or the illusion of being an airbrush that isn't made in China. As a smart shopper you can just buy direct from the factory in Hong Kong and save 90% !!!!

My theory is that these are great airbrushes at a super low price. For that quality and price I expected slow shipping from China and I expect that if one breaks they have no profit margin or leeway for working with me. I'm fine with that since I once had an expensive airbrush break and despite the "warranty" I got no where and just had to suck it up and buy another brush -- couldn't afford to be down and out while dealing with corporate customer service anyway. So at this $20 price range I bought a few of these airbrushes myself and figured if one failed at some point I'd just get out another one.

BTW, I have used these airbrushes for years for real fire flames and other airbrushing art and so far the only failure occurred when I dropped one and bent it -- entirely my fault obviously. Still I don't expect these to be perfect. They are just very good. One might fail at some point -- maybe not long after getting it out of the box -- but the failure rate is very, very low, the quality is very, very good and I do not expect good customer service at this price range.

If you want to buy a real expensive airbrush and expect/hope for good customer service in the event of a problem then that's great -- please do so. I am just letting you know what I use and that I am much happier having a few extra of these laying around ready to use in case of a problem than counting on customer service. I am providing my own customer service by having several of these laying around just in case -- and for a total price that is much less than one comparable quality, very expensive airbrush.

Model 130 Airbrush

The Royalmax 130A airbrush is the simplest and easiest to use. It is a great work horse airbrush great for real fire flames airbrushing. It is probably THE best airbrush dollar-for-dollar and it sells for just
$21.99

Check out the Royalmax 130A Airbrush!

The Royalmax AB 180 airbrush is superb for fine detail work. It is a bit more sophisticated and offers the ability to adjust air pressure right at the tip -- super convenient for fine detail airbrushing. The Royalmax AB 180 airbrush sells for just
$33.99

Check out the Model 180 Airbrush!

Royalmax 180 Airbrush superb-quality, low priced airbrush
Royalmax 180 airbrush -- THE super quality airbrush at a super low-price!!!

It is true that not all products from China are good -- but these Royalmax Model 130A and Model 180 airbrushes really are great!!!

BTW, delivery takes some time from Hong Kong. These guys are super busy -- as you can imagine. They are selling as good of an airbrush as you can find for a fraction of what anyone else charges.

It took me about a month or so to get me orders from Manda when I originally bought my test units. So when I ordered again, I just ordered several at once.

I really like these airbrushes a lot and I figure that for a fraction of the cost of one of the identical high-priced-name-brand airbrushes I would just go ahead and get 2 or 3 of each of these (the 130 and the 180) in one order and that would set me up for a long, long time even if I damaged on by dropping it or I lost one.

IF YOU NEED AN ADAPTER, I BELIEVE THE HARBOR FREIGHT PART NUMBER FOR THE ADAPTER IS: 95813

These high-quality low-priced airbrushes are helpful to you if you are just getting into airbrushing and you don't know if you want to drop a ton of money into it. The Models 130 and 180 airbrushes do a superb job and leaves nothing to be desired. So don't blow a bunch of your hard-earned money to pay the country club fees for a bunch of corporate fat cats at the fancy-name brand airbrushing corporations. Get this exact clone off of the exact same factory in China that the name-brand (supposedly non-Chinese) airbrushes come from.

Quality airbrush, low price, long disability. Save yourself the expensive fanny label name and the "pretend it isn't made in China" scam. The Veda Model 180 is THE smart buy in airbrushes.

Buy direct from the factory right here and save 90 PERCENT!!!

PLEASE NOTE: Shipping is from the factory in Hong Kong. It can take awhile.

AIRBRUSH LINE COMPRESSOR ADAPTERS -- While you are on the airbrush website you can click on the "Accessories" link and you will see various adapter fittings available to order with your airbrush. You will need to adapt from the standard air compressor down to an airbrush line if you want to use a regular compressor.

Also, when you get your airbrush(s) you can go down to your local hardware store or home improvement store with your airbrush line and play around with their fittings and adapters to come up with something.

These airbrushes is easily as good -- frankly identical to -- the fancy name-brand corporation airbrushes that cost 10 times this price!!

Don't waste your money!!
Don't' get ripped-off

Buy the generic-labeled Model 180 airbrush direct from the factory for a 90% savings.

I really get a kick out of the guys who say that they would never buy Chinese-made airbrushes. What these guys don't know is that most if not all of their precious so-called Japanese and American airbrushes are really made in China, too. SURPRISE!!! They're just assembled, re-packaged and re-labeled in Japan or the U.S. Big deal.

The only airbrushes which aren't really made in China today are probably German-made ones.

The really bad news is that the "American-made" airbrushes (and I won't name any names here) are some of the very worst. Again, they are also really Chinese-made but they are not as good as these airbrushes from Peco Global which are admittedly Chinese made.

Welcome to Reality-ville. Again, not all Chinese airbrushes are as good as others so watch out, but there are plenty that are great and super cheap.

You can live in Pretendville and buy the $150-$250 airbrushes that say "Japan" or "USA" on them and be silly enough to believe that even though it's not true -- they are really Chinese-made or you can buy the same CHinese-made airbrushes off of the same Chinese assembly line and pay Chinese prices of around $35 per airbrush for perfectly good airbrushes Veda Model 180 airbrushes.

Airbrushes with Detachable Jars

Airbrush with Detachable Jar

This is a detachable paint jar airbrush. I personally don't care for these but you might like them. To me, if you think you are going to need to do a big job, that's when maybe get a detachable jar airbrush.

Gravity Feed Airbrushes

Gravity Feed Airbrushes
The gravity-feed airbrushes -- fixed paint reservoir on top -- have always been very popular and it is the type I like. When I am just practicing or doing smaller jobs -- e.g. a motorcycle tank, etc. -- I find that the gravity feed airbrushes are better to use than those with detachable paint jars.

Overall my advice is to get a good regular gravity feed airbrush to start and an inexpensive one that I recommend. You'll learn fast and not be all worried about how much you spent.
